The former deputy Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, RT Hon Prince Chukwudi Orizu, formally declared for African Democratic Congress (ADC).
RT Hon Prince Chukwudi Orizu, needs no introduction in the politics of Anambra State,, having served as the two man in the Anambra State House of Assembly. He is also, the son of the oldest living monarch in the world, at over 100 years old, HRH Igwe KON Orizu III.
The event was moderated by Hon Ben Chuks Nwosu, one of the major stakeholders of ADC in Anambra State.
In attendance were several friends and political associates of the RT Hon Prince Orizu.
Hon Ben Chuks Nwosu declared to the teeming members of the party that were on hand to witness the declaration of RT Hon Orizu to ADC declared that the day was special.
Hon Nwosu emphasized that APGA has lost a huge personality as a result of RT Hon Prince Orizu’s decamping, while ADC had made a huge political score. “RT Hon Chukwudi Orizu’s defection to ADC will cause a political earthquake in Nnewi and beyond,” Ben Chuks thundered.
Prince Chukwudi (Agu Igwe) Orizu, the younger brother of RT Hon Orizu said that “I am happy that my brother joined ADC formally today.” Prince Agu Igwe, who was already a member of ADC, said that ADC and Peter is happy because ADC and Peter Obi will take Nigeria to a better place.
RT Hon Prince Orizu was invited to address the party members. The Rt Hon Orizu was happy that the party members accorded him and enthusiastic reception.
RT Hon Orizu said “there are about three reasons why I decided to join ADC today.”
“The simple truth is that change is constant in life,” he said. He said that the second reason was because he began his political service with Peter Obi, whom he worked very well with. Because of how close he was with Mr Peter Obi, he worked for his presidential election, even though he was a major stakeholder in APGA. Some APGA members alleged anti party accusations against him, therefore, he has decided to work openly with Mr Peter Obi.
RT Hon Orizu said that Mr Peter Obi deserves to be the next Nigerian President.
RT Orizu said that he is committed to work for ADC, and also determined to pull his friends into the party to help give Mr Peter Obi the winning. He said that he merely decided to invite a few friends on a very short notice.
The Nnewi North women leader, Mrs Chinyere Ofor, expressed her happiness that women were on hand to receive RT Hon Orizu. She said that they are ready to work with him.
Many stakeholders and aspirants were on hand. Some of them were Engr Emeka Okeke, Hon Smart Okafor, Malachy Onebunne, Prince Africa Orizu, former ADC Governorship candidate, Dr John Nwosu, Hon Uzo Ulasi, Hon Kinsley Obiukwu, Prince Osinachi Orizu, Chief Ugochukwu Anigbogu ( Ichie Ubasinachi), Oliver Osuigwe, Chief Augustine Asianya, Chief Last K Osuizugbe, Ossy Ulasi, Ejike Ojukwu, and member representing Nnewi federal constituency, Hon Peter Uzokwe (Asiwaju).
ADC LGA party chairman, Hon Chijioke Ofodile, spoke warmly of RT Hon Orizu for joining the party. He also thanked all new members that came to be part of the event.
Hon Ben Chuks Nwosu reminded the party members how he had worked closely with Dr John Nwosu, (Governorship candidate for ADC), and how much Dr Nwosu had invested and continued to spend. Ben Chuks began with Dr John Nwosu at Labour party. Dr John Nwosu bought all the chairs and tables in all the 21 LGAs of Anambra State. Eventually, they realized they were not open and fair to them. They later moved to ADC, and took over most of the financing.
John Nwosu extolled the virtues of Peter Obi, and reminded members that when Peter Obi becomes the President of Nigeria, that things will be better for all Nigerians, especially the Igbos.
Dr Nwosu urged every one to mobilize as many people as possible to register. He expects at least 1000 people per ward. With that type of registration, Atiku and the rest of the party will cede the presidential candidacy to Mr Peter Obi.
The member representing Nnewi federal constituency, Hon Peter Uzokwe (Asiwaju) while welcoming RT Hon Chukwudi Orizu to ADC, he used the opportunity to speak on his effort to get INEC to fix the loopholes the northerners use to score astronomical numbers against the Igbos
Hon Uzokwe also announced locations where he is currently engaged in medical outreach to tackle serious illnesses such as fibroids, hernia, hypertension, etc. He also reminded the members that he has been of the major financial sponsors of ADC, even though, he restraints himself from blowing it up.
