From Ijeoma John Nnewi
The newly elected Executive
Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, Hon Echezona Anazodo has resumed office with the resolve and assurance to govern the Local Government with transparency and accountability to bring sustai
U.nable development in the area.
Hon Anazodo disclosed this on Tuesday in his inaugural meeting with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) stakeholders and workers in the Council Area.
He said that his victory as Executive chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State was made possible by God through the stakeholders who worked tirelessly for this to be possible .
He appreciated all the stakeholders including his campaign Director General, Chief Jude Osumuo; Mr Austin Jideofor; the immediate past Transition Committee Chairman, Chris Obirorah; the APGA Chairman in Nnewi North, Hon Afam Muodielo; Mr Innocent Okoli (Organizer), husband to the Deputy Chairman, Mrs Okoli for his financial support, and a host of others who he said contributed in one way or the other for the success of the new administration at polls.
Hon Anazodo assured the people of Nnewi that his administration would not fail them, that he would fulfill all his campaign promises.
He said that his administration would first of all ensure security of lives and property in Nnewi.
“One of the important areas we will focus on is security. We will unite Nnewi vigilance operatives to work as one.
“As the Executive Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government, we will find a common ground to cooperate, unite and fight a common interest”
“I can’t be here and see a factional security outfit in Nnewi. Whatever are the differences they will have to be solved for the interest of Nnewi people.
“Our Governor, Professor Charles Soludo gave me a time frame about Nnewi security and he spoke extensively on that in our meeting. We have no time to waste. The general interest of Nnewi must prevail and we have to face the infrastructural decay in Nnewi as well.
“We’ll always give you updates as we progress, “Hon Anazodo added.
The Chairman said he was indebted to nobody, apparently to clear the insinuations that he had a godfather he would be accountable to. He said he is only responsible to Ndị Nnewi and those who have the interest of Nnewi at heart.
He disclosed that the slogan that “Oga ekwuona” was a mere speculation that had no bearing on his emergence and should be ignored.
He promised to work in harmony with the Council workers and gave a hint about new appointments in the Council Area which he said would be based on merit.
He said he would not hesitate to replace anybody found wanting in his workforce to ensure that his administration meets up with its mandate.
The stakeholders took turns to address the audience, asking Nnewi people to be patient with the new Executive Chairman and his Councilor, giving them maximum support to succeed.
