Senator Ifeanyi Ubah took to task individuals who hide behind the quest for autonomous communities, while it is an effort to promote their personal interests.
Senator Ubah addressed the issue during the interactive broadcast at Authority radio where he updated the audience on the ongoing projects his office is executing across the Anambra South Senatorial zone.
Senator Ubah maintained that his priorities are on how he will provide sustenance and projects for the members of his constituency.
He questioned why individuals who are incapable of maintaining stability in their homes should be at the forefront of promoting the fragmentation of Nnewi, with the attendant negative consequences.
Senator Ubah maintained that those promoting the policy are setting the ground where the youth of Nnewi be used as instruments when the gladiators clash, meanwhile, their children will be safe somewhere away from the crisis.
“Tell me what benefits is there to be gained?” Senator Ubah queried. He is away that the federal government is not paying anyone for assuming an autonomous community status. The only thing likely to come with it is crisis and no development.
Senator Ubah reiterated his reverence for the Obis of the various quarters, and His Royal Highness, Igwe Nnewi.
He called on those promoting the agenda to desist from deceiving the youth but should unite to keep building a strong and viable Nnewi town.
