Senator Ifeanyi Ubah worries about rampaging poverty; and inspects strategic roads to improve the quality of life for the people

Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah reminisces the hardship crippling the masses, particularly the middle and the lower classes.

He vocalized his inner thoughts that he will spend a greater degree of his tenure pursuing programs that will impact their quality of life.

Senator Ubah mapped out certain strategic roads in Nnewi that will have an immediate impact on the road users. These roads would form strategic diversions away from the frustrating bottlenecks around key points in Nnewi urban.

For example, the Senator had a vision of a driver or commuter veering off Nnobi Rd on St Peter/Capital oil Rd Umuanuka Otolo road and make a right on Nitel. At the Jimex junction, the driver takes a left on continues through the Seat of Wisdom Nursery and Primary School.

The driver will burst out at the Awka Etiti road. If the driver wishes, he will go left to Eziogwugwu village, Egbu-Umuenem, then Awka Etiti before hitting the Eke Awka market.

Otherwise, the driver should veer a slight right turn, then a slight left to take the road straight down past Obi Dogoncompound to Umuenem Hall. From there, the driver takes a left to the Checking-Point intersection, Egbu-Umuenem, and make a right turn.

The strategic road passes in front of Obi Umuenem palace, across the famous but abandoned Ilo Nwa Ngworo, stopping at the Late Chief Justice CJ Okoli where the road will merge with the Zion road and St Cletus road.

The essence of these multiple connections is to give the drivers choices to reach their destinations away from the holdup drivers encounter on Nnewi roads, often during unpredictable periods of the day.

Senator Ubah said that he needs to lessen the frustrations of the commuters, however, his major concern is to keep responding to the needs of the people with more poverty alleviation programs.

Senator Ubah said “that it would be futile to convince anyone that former President Buhari did not manage the economy well, hence, every hand must be on deck to arrest the ugly situation besieging our country.”
