The Nnewi indigenes based in Abuja Federal Capital Territory had their annual End of Year party. It is usually an occasion designated to end the year with gratitude to the Almighty God for keeping them alive and prosperous.
This year’s occasion was extra special in the sense that it was Senator Ikechukwu Obiorah who was designated to host the occasion. Senator Obiorah spared no expense in integrating full activities for the adults and children present at the party.
Infact it was an occasion that would live in the memory of the Nnewi children and parents for many years to come. The children dived into amusement facilities hired for their entertainment and they were not bored nor disappointed.



The adults were provided arrays of dishes and assortment of drinks to keep the body and soul joyous until late in the night.
The President of the Nnewi community and most speakers extolled the generous disposition of Senator Ikechukwu Obiorah for making this end of year celebration a special one. They all emphasized on the mammoth turnout of Nnewi people, including the crème de la crème of various professions.



Of note is the overwhelming sentiment that Nnewi is such a strategic town with enormous human capital that they should always have representation at the National Assembly. They emphasized that such a person or persons should not only possess the requisite qualifications but must be seen as committed to the interest of the Nnewi community.




When Senator Obiorah was invited to offer his comment. He expressed how happy he was to receive the Nnewi people in his humble abode. For him, it was an honor to render the service, he enthused.
He did not fail to wish HRH Igwe Dr KON Orizu III, who is celebrating his 100 years on earth and 62 years on the throne. Obiorah also acknowledged the strategic roles Obi Uruagu, Obi Umudim, and Obi Nnewichi are playing with Igwe Nnewi to ensure the stability Nnewi enjoys today.



Senator Obiorah told Nnewi people that until they take elections seriously and elections are conducted in a free atmosphere to allow the people’s choice to emerge, that the people will keep on suffering inattentive governance because there is no accountability.
The DJ provided quality variety of songs and the Nnewi women group shined with their cultural dance they used to entertain the audience.
Apart from the coordinated role the Executive members played, it is important to acknowledge the special moderating role played by Prince Sam Ben Nwosu during the occasion, and the role Abuchi Ejibanam played in working closely with Senator Ikechukwu Obiorah in ensuring the successful turn of the event.
The children who numbered over 250 were provided with gift packets. The attendees were unanimous in exclaiming that there has never been this type of end of the year party with these numbers of people present.
Just to mention a few of the personalities at the occasion were Chief Dr Emeka Agbasi (MD FERMA), Chief George Moghalu, Chief Emeka Etiaba (SAN), Chief Ikejianu (Ezenwachinemelu), Prince Sam Ben Nwosu, Princess Esom Nwafor Orizu, Prince Onwa Nwafor Orizu, Chief Okey Chikwendu, Engr Ugo Oranuba, and Ernest Ejike, etc.
