Sit At Home: Anambra CP begins advocacy visit to 21 LGAs

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam(CP) on Monday began security advocacy on Anti Sit at home and security assessment in the twenty-one LGAs in the state.

CP Obono Itam commenced the advocacy with a visit to the Awka South LGA, where he charged the stakeholders to continue to work with police and other security agencies.

Executive Council members, Traditional Rulers, President Generals(PGs) of the communities, youth leaders, Anambra State Vigilantes Operatives, PCRC members and other stakeholders were in attendance.

He said that the need to continue to work with the police and other security agencies has become imperative so as to adopt sustainable policing practices to improve security surveillance and timely security interventions in the state.

CP Obono Itam urged citizens and residents alike to report suspicious persons and unusual movement they may observe to the nearest Police Station or through the Command Emergency number call 07039194332 for a prompt response.

The CP while reacting to the murder incident at Nibo and Ifite last two weeks, stated that the command is on trail for some already mentioned suspects involved in the act.

The Executive Chairman of Awka South LGA, Hon. Prince Chinedu Okafor who spoke on behalf of all the stakeholders pledged to continue working with the command and other security agencies to improve public safety.

The CP after the interactive session led anti-sit at-home patrol within the State, places visited include Ogidi Divisional headquarters, Obosi Divisional Headquaters Okpoko Divisional Headquarters, Harbour Divisional Headquaters and Awada Divisional Headquaters.
