The Council Chairman, Hon Echezona Anazodo, briefed Nnewi community on his100 days in office

The Nnewi North Council Chairman, Hon Echezona Anazodo, accompanied by the Council Speaker, Hon Chijioke Nwizuigbe, some councilors; Secretary of the Council, Hon Emeka Okafor, and others, came to the monthly meeting.


He came to rejoice with the community on the enjoyment of peace and quiet during the Christmas season. He commended Dr Maduaka Atueyi the role he played to ensure that those that came home enjoyed peace and quiet from criminals. Dr Maduka thanked the Council Chairman, but insisted it was a collective by all concerned it was c crime free holiday for those that visited Nnewi.

Hon Anazodo spoke extensively on the enhanced security law that has helped to address the crime incidents in Anambra State. The new crime law was more comprehensive and domiciled leadership with the President Generals down to the villages. Besides, all sector of the community must key in to address the responsibility of landlords and tenants. The State also provides generous compensation for information that lead to the arrest of the criminals.


The Council Chairman also spoke on the requirements for practitioners of native doctors and Ezenwanyi. Every one of those must be known and get certified by the State government.

He thanked the Nzukora Nnewi for supporting his administration. Anazodo asked his supporters to keep praying for him and the government. He reiterated that he is serving those that supported him as well those who did not support them. “We are also working for you,” he reiterated.

Hon announced that he will be on Choice FM on Monday morning to speak about his 100 days in office. He will do the same on Authority Radio FM within the week. He urged those that have questions for him to tune in.


Hon Anazodo went on to highlight on some of the road projects in Nnewi on how they are determined to see that the contractors do not cut corners in execution of the projects.


The Chairman insisted that he is running a zero-pothole program on Nnewi roads. He begged various communities to exercise patience since he is coming to address their road needs as soon as possible.


On the trash containers on the road side, he told the meeting he has discussed with the governor to move the trash containers out of the roads and dig pits to take care of the overflow. Hence, the contractors can clean the overflow when evacuating the trash can.
