The leading candidate for the upcoming Anambra South Senatorial seat, Hon Chief Azuka Okwuosa (Chinyelugo), paid a courtesy visit to Sir Bobby Okwuosa and his friends at Sir Bobby’s country home to solicit for support.

Hon Okwuosa, who was already a well-known personality in Nnewi, once served as a former Council Chairman of Nnewi Local Government Area. He was also mentored by the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Emeka Ojukwu (Ezeigbo Gburugburu).

The race to replace the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s seat has been an emotional one for the people of Nnewi. The wide considered assumption for the people of Nnewi was that his seat at the Senate should be given to an Nnewi son to complete his tenure to assuage them for the loss.

It was learned that the three most qualified candidates from Nnewi who belong to APGA, who are capable and tested personalities
were unceremoniously schemed out of the senatorial race.

That notwithstanding, a lot of Nnewi people are determined to ensure that the seat remains within Anaedo kingdom and with the most capable and formidable candidate found in Azuka Okwuosa, a kinsman of the late Ubah as sons of Anaedo.
Chief Ben Etiaba was effusive with extolling the virtues of Azuka Okwuosa, whom the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah persuaded to run for the Senate. Chief Etiaba praised the late Senator Ubah for having a great foresight in recognizing the qualities in Azuka Okwuosa.

Prince Afam Orizu praised Azuka Okwuosa for not being a stranger to our people. He said that Hon Okwuosa has always stood for peace and should be supported because he is competent and also our blood brother.
Chief Azuka Okwuosa spoke of his intentions to maintain continuity from where the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah stopped. He said that all those projects scattered across the Senatorial zone that were initiated by the late Senator Ubah must be completed.
“Many new projects will come from me because I am conversant with all the key players at the Senate.”
“I want to touch our people and let them know that my stewardship is theirs. I want to live and fight for them.”
He thanked Sir Bobby Okwuosa for providing his home and his friends to hear him out. Hon Azuka Okwuosa solicited for massive support of the people of Nnewi.
Hon Ezeakukwu Nsoedo while giving the vote of thanks, praised Hon Okwuosa for his doggedness and humility. “Ezeakukwu thanked Hon Okwuosa for being the first Commissioner to award Abel Okoye road and commenced work on it and was determined to finish. Unfortunately, the then Governor reshuffled his cabinet and the new Commissioner abandoned the project,” he continued.
Several personalities present were Sir Bobby Okwuosa, Hon Sir Humphrey Nsofor, Chief Tony Nnajiofor (Ogbataonuba), Prince Afam Orizu, Chief Josiah Ezeoke(Sicon), Prince Sunday Igwemadu, Otutodilina Azubuike, Professor Ezechukwu, Professor Vin Okonkwo, Chief Ben Etiaba, and Hon Ezeakukwu Nsoedo (PhD), etc.
Hon Okwuosa spent time outside with several stakeholders who could not be accommodated in the spacious living room and solicited solidarity on the project at hand.
