The Council Chairman, Engr Chris Obiorah chose to impact positivity in everything he does. “For me, I am always thinking of how to make the lives of the people less strenuous,” Engr Obiorah said.
The Chairman continues, “We need to be each other’s keeper, especially in this moment of economic austerity.” He urged neighbors to always be with each other.
The widows of Umudinkwa turned up for the Chairman’s visit. The Obi of Umudinkwa prayed for the life of the Chairman and his entourage who took out time to answer the invitation of Hon Engr Chris Obiorah.
Following the kola, the Hon Emeka Okafor took the floor to introduce the Council Chairman. In introducing him, Hon Okafor reminded the audience that the Council Chairman is a rare gem. “That he is a genuine Christian who will give his last possession to anyone who is need.” Hon Okafor urged that with this visit, the Council Chairman will make it a regular event. He then invited Engr Obiorah to address the audience.
Engr Obiorah informed the widows and others present that he has a bloodline to the Umudinkwa community, and considers himself a member of the community.
He told the women that he had wanted to visit with them during Easter, and he then realized that everyone was engaged in activities. And that he did not want another person to make the visit on his behalf.
The Council Chairman used the opportunity to remind them to support Governor Soludo who is been doing great things for the people of Anambra State, and particularly Nnewi North LGA.
The Chairman thanked the APGA members for their support and grassroots mobilization. It is the right because the party’s roots run from Umudim Nnewi, through our eternal leader Dim Emeka Ojukwu.
The Council Chairman informed the widows that each person would receive a bag of rice and five thousand naira. He promised to keep coming back from time to time to interact with them.
He assured all the widows in the hall, even those whose names were not in the list to relax, since they all will be provided. The elderly and the sick who were unable to come, had their bags of rice and cash delivered to them.
The Community’s women Leader, Mrs Ogechukwu Okeke and her Deputy, Mrs. Chika Chikwendu organized the widows.
Mrs Chika Chikwendu told Vision Newspapers that she had never witnessed such a visit from any government personnel to their community. She said that the program of the Council Chairman is excellent, they are grateful and very excited to for the visit.
Mrs Ogechukwu Okeke said that they heard the Council Chairman is a kind and generous man. That she has the opportunity to see the quiet man in person. He prayed to God to keep protecting him.
The youth leader, Hon Azuka Chinedu gave the vote of thanks to the Chairman and his entourage.
Some of the Councillors gave the women cash donations. Hon Peter Nupeng gave them #100,000.00.
