Ezeakukwu Emmanuel Nsoedo
The Alumni of OMGS 1975-1980 Set paid a condolence visit to Rear Admiral (Rtd) Uchenna Blessing Onyia, a member of the class, in his home town, Enugu Ngwo, in Enugu State. Blessing lost his mother, Chief Mrs Florence Nwanneka Onyia JP.
From all indications, the late Mrs Florence was a devoted mother who played an invaluable role in the lives of her children. She was also very well accomplished in business and religious life.
The delegation to Enugu Ngwo was led by the President of the Association, Hon Ezeakukwu Emmanuel Nsoedo (Ph.D). The delegation also included Early Man Okwunna Okongwu (Secretary), Hon Dr Amobi Chikwendu, Chike Ifepe, Uchenna Oruche (Wasky), and Pius Agu.
“As it is customary with the OMGS 1975-1980 set, we always cherish every opportunity to share fraternal love. The expression of love is more intense when any of us is distressed, especially, in an occasion such as this, when our member needs comforting words and physical support,” the President expressed to Hon Ben Onyia, the older brother of Rear Admiral Onyia.
The association formerly made the traditional presentation of drink, a piece of Abada cloth, and a purse for the table.
The family received the delegation well. The members were very happy that our brother, Blessing, cherished the visit and did everything possible to express his enthusiasm. Despite a huge presence of many dignitaries from several walks of life, he kept coming around to the Old Boys to enquire of their needs.
Onyia thanked the delegation and hoped that we should make out time to meet under a different circumstance to continue bonding. Another Old Boy from a different class, Uchenna Agu, joined the OMGS 1975-1980 set to commiserate with Rear Admiral Uchenna Blessing Onyia.
