The Nnewi North Local government area council came into operation following the inauguration of the Transition Counselors representing the various wards of Nnewi.
Following their nominations and successful vetting by the government of His Excellency Professor Chukwuma Soludo, these Councillors will now begin to account for their stewardship to their respective constituencies.
It appeared that several of the councilors were itching to hit the ground running. However, families, and the APGA party stalwarts were on hand to rejoice with them.
The Councilors all beamed with satisfied smiles. The councilor representing Otolo ward II, Hon John Chukwuemeka Okafor, expressed his joy to God for a day like this.
Hon Chukwuemeka was full of praises for Chief Dr. Cletus Ibeto, who always remains the chief servant of the Nnewi people for his untiring commitment to pushing Nnewi forward.
Hon Chukwuemeka also thanked the traditional stool of Nnewi. He thanked the Obi Umuenem, chief Afam Obiekosi, whose constituency he serves; one of the key stakeholders, Alphonsus Anaebue (Boys), his wife, friends, and colleagues.
He looks forward to a fruitful time at the council.
