Things Nigerians need to know as Dangote refinery begins Petrol distribution Sunday

Dangote Refinery will begin distributing Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) on Sunday, exclusively to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, made the announcement during a news briefing in Abuja on Friday.

He was represented by Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

With this latest development, here are four things to know:

NNPCL will be the sole distributor of Dangote Refinery’s PMS, which will be sold to marketers during the initial phase.

The start of Dangote Refinery distribution will not result in any changes to petrol pump prices at this time.

Dangote Petrol will end fuel supply hiccups in Nigeria.

Marketers will then begin taking Dangote refinery’s petrol after reaching a pricing deal with the company.
