TNN inaugurated in Anambra

The Anambra State chapter of Team New Nigeria (TNN) was on Saturday inaugurated in the industrial town of Nnewi.

National delegates of the group attended the inauguration ceremony took which place at Anaedo Hall.

An eighteen man Executive Committee headed by Chief Edwin Maduka Chukwuma (PhD) was also sworn in during the inauguration.

In a keynote address he presented at the occasion with the theme: ‘Unity in Diversity’, Prof Clement Chigbo pointed out that never in the history of Nigeria has the nation been confronted with litany of challenges rocking her to the root.

He noted that Nigeria can only work when all Nigerians irrespective of their tribal and religious leanings are sincerely committed to her.

“Nation building requires determination from every group in the country to be ready to live together and collectively tackle the challenges.

“There is also the urgent need to arrest the erosion of institutional independence.” Prof Chigbo pointed out.

Prof Chigbo said emphatically that a better and a united Nigeria is still possible inspite of the present challenges.

The guest speaker however advocated for Extra Ordinary National Conference (EONC) where Nigeria can sit and discuss issues about their country.

The egghead also called for practice of true federalism as one of the ways to set Nigeria on a right footing even as he observed gross marginalization of Igbo in Nigeria setting but added quickly that war is not the solution.

In his speech, the coordinator of the newly inaugurated Anambra State Executive Committee, Chief Chukwuma noted that Team New Nigeria is a non governmental organization established in 2020 as a non profit making organization but with good intentions to be transformed into a political party.

Oyinnatumba as he is popularly called said TNN has come to stay in the state to sustain genuine democratic values, equity and peaceful co-existence of Ndi Anambra.

Dr Chukwuma expressed the preparedness of his executive council to work together in unity to achieve the set goals of TNN.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prince Afam Orizu, who stood in for HRM, Igwe Dr. KON Orizu 111, the General Manager, Anambra State Procurement Agency, Chief Melie Onyejepu, MD, Chikason Group, Engr Linus Ilozue, representatives of political parties and other eminent personalities.
