
Atiku Abubakar has spoken on his visit to former president Olusegun Obasanjo, saying it was not political.
News of Atiku’s meeting with Obasanjo sparked speculations on a potential coalition ahead of the 2027 election.

Addressing members of the press at about 2:17 p.m. after the meeting, he disclosed that he merely made a courtesy call to his former boss.
Atiku clarified that his visit had nothing to do with the 2027 election and that he was not ready to discuss politics.

“I am here on a courtesy call. I am not here to talk politics.
“I was not in Abeokuta to see Obasanjo because of 2027,” he stated, describing the meeting as purely “a courtesy visit”.
“It is a courtesy visit. I’m not going to talk about 2027 or politics. I’m not here because of 2027,” he stated.
