Umuikpe Family Union held a successful election


The Hon Chiedu Nsoedo led-executive stepped down and a new executive emerged through an election that led to the emergence of Commissioner Isaac Chukwudinkwa as the new Chairman, with his new executive.

Hon Chiedu Nsoedo led Umuikpe Family for about 13 years. He thanked the family, and pledged his support for the executive.

The election was free and transparent. The first order of business was to zone the offices to the various sub-family units comprising of Dalahize, Ezediji, Ezejimofo na Ogbudaa, and Ezekedulum. Commissioner Isaac Chukwudinkwa and Ndubuisi Ndianefo received nominations for the post of Chairman. Isaac Chukwudinkwa scored 38 votes to defeat Ndubuisi Ndianefo, who scored 29 votes.

The post of Vice Chairman went to Mr. Ifenna Ojukwu. Ifenna scored about 55 votes against 5 votes scored by Uzochukwu Planner Ojukwu. For the post of Secretary, Dr. Nsoedo and Chigozie Chukwumezie, however, Dr. Nsoedo stepped down for Chigozie.

The post of Financial Secretary went to Emmanuel Okeke unopposed, the post of Treasurer went to Kenechukwu Okegbe by unanimous vote, The post of the Publicity Secretary went to Aboy Ndianefo.

Other posts were filled by Uzochukwu Ojukwu, Assistant Secretary, Oguchi Ilogu, Chief Provost, Nnanyelu Obiakonwa, Provost, and others.

Hon Emeka Okafor performed the swearing in ceremony for the new executive.

The Chairman of the new executive committed of Umuikpe Family committed to discharge their duties with the fear of God. He solicited the support of all and sundry to give the family otherwise known as Ward 10 opportunity to maintain its preminent position in Umuenem and Otolo Nnewi.

Some members made monetary donations to support them.
