UNVEILING THE TRUTH – DISPELLING FALSE NARRATIVES SURROUNDING THE ALLEGED INVOLVEMENT OF DISTINGUISHED SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH AND MAZI NNAMDI KANU’S RENDITION

IKEMBA FRONT, the flagship political support structure of Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah chose to remain silent until now to allow for the peaceful transition and interment of our leader and principal, Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, CON. However, it is crucial that we address the baseless allegations linking him to the rendition of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu so as to set the records straight. Below, we provide a detailed account based on facts shared by our leader before his untimely demise which we are aware of by virtue of our deep rooted association with him.

1. False Narratives and Their Propagation: The claims that Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah facilitated Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s transportation from Kenya to Nigeria using his private jet are utterly false. These destructive rumours were initially spread by political detractors but later gained traction among individuals we once regarded as brothers and sisters.
2. Efforts to Exonerate Himself: Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah took several steps to clear his name. He publicly refuted these allegations and provided evidence to counter the false narratives, demonstrating transparency and a commitment to the truth.
3. Fact-Based Clarifications: Rather than reiterating details already in the public domain, we highlight pivotal facts for independent investigation and verification.
4. Demand for Direct Audience with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu: To address the allegations directly, Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah sought for a meeting with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Following this, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother, Mr. Emmanuel Kanu (also known as Fineboy) visited Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah at his residence in Maitama, Abuja. During the meeting, Emmanuel assured Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah of his support in facilitating the requested audience.
5. Approval for a Meeting: Shortly after the visit by Emmanuel (Fineboy), Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah’s name was included among those authorized to visit Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
6. The Truth from Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Himself: At the meeting, attended by Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer, Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, and Emmanuel Kanu, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu categorically stated that Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was not involved in any aspect of his rendition. He also confirmed his awareness of those responsible and affirmed that no evidence linked Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to the incident.
7. Call for Focus on Political Resolution: During the same meeting, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu urged Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to ignore the falsehood and focus on political solutions to the issues surrounding his ordeal – a role Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah actively played until his tragic demise.
8. Subsequent Visits: In subsequent visits, Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, on at least two occasions, accompanied Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s wife, Mrs Uchechi Okwu Kanu, to visit him at the DSS facility. These visits were widely known and further illustrated the cordial relationship between the two families. Outcome of further visits as publicly showed, witnessed a joint press conference conducted by Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah and Eze Chukwuemeka Eri, wherein they disclosed the instructions of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to publicly denounce the activities of Simon Ekpa and the infamous Monday – sit at home ravaging the entire South East region. 9. Unwavering Testimonies: Both Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor and Mr Emmanuel Kanu, being alive today, can corroborate the account of these meetings and confirm that Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was never implicated in the rendition.
10. Support Extended to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Family: Although Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah did not authorize anyone to disclose the financial assistance he extended to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s family, the records of his generosity speak volumes about his goodwill.
11. Challenge to the Propagators of Falsehood: We challenge anyone with contrary evidence to step forward. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s wife, who visited him in company of Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has never claimed that her husband implicated him. Similarly, Mr. Emmanuel Kanu and Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor have not, at any time, suggested otherwise.
12. Further Challenge to the Propagators of Falsehood: In all known publications made by Comrade Emma Powerful, the media and publicity secretary of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) representing the views and position of the Directorate of State (DOS) of the family and movement of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has also not accused Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah of any conspiratorial involvement in the rendition or any other infringement on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu whatsoever. Their publication dated 30 October, 2024, like all other previous publications dispelled all doubts as to any issue with Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.
13. A Call for Clarity and Unity: It is imperative that Ndi Igbo distinguish their true allies from those perpetuating destructive and false narratives. These baseless accusations only serve to sow discord and distraction from the real issues.
14. May the soul of our late leader, Sen. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, be allowed to rest in the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ as he is innocent of the deliberate falsehood spewed by forces of retrogression.
