A US-based pharmacist, Mr Martin Nwabueze, has criticized Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State over his utterances concerning the allegation of Christians genocide in Nigeria.
Among other things, Soludo had said: ‘People are killing themselves, Christians killing Christians. The people in the bushes are Emmanuel, Peter, and John, all Christian names, and they have maimed and killed thousands of our youths. It has nothing to do with religion.’
Reacting, Nwabueze said: “To make Tinubu happy and in response to Trump’s allegations of a genocide targeted against Nigerian Christians, Soludo has written a letter to tell Trump and the world that the killings in his state have nothing to do with religion.
“Yes, Soludo said that Christians are killing Christians in Anambra. That the crimes have nothing to do with religion. Soludo went as far as saying the killers and criminals bear Christian names like Emmanuel, Peter and Paul.
“This is the same Soludo who has for years told us that native doctors were responsible for the killings. Soludo, who had told us that traditional religion is the cause of the insecurity and went ahead to outlaw traditional religion practices like Oke ite, Ibobo and others, blaming them for the insecurity in Anambra, the same Soludo has written a letter to the world to confess that ‘Christians are killing Christians’ in Anambra.
“If Soludo knows that Christians are the killers, why did he crack down on native doctors? He knows that Emmanuel and Peter are the criminals, why did he sign a law to criminalize Oke ite and Ibobo?
Why are native doctors like Akwa Okuku and Eka Hit in jail. Is Akwa Okuku a Christian? Is Oke ite a Christian practice?”
Nwabueze, who is the co-founder of Tilova For Africa (TFA), a non-profit and advocacy organization, said: “Soludo will say and do anything to make Tinubu and the North happy even if he has to vilify the Igbo race and Christians.
“The last time, he said Igbos commit 99.9 % of the crimes and that Fulani herdsmen do not kill anybody. Now, he is saying that Christians are the killers.
