Uzodinma envious of my achievements, Okorocha alleges

A former governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, on Tuesday replied a claim made by the governor of the state, Hope Uzodinma, that he (Okorocha) begged him to disband a committee on recovery of lands set up by the state government.

Okorocha rather said that the governor was envious of his achievements and had deployed to run him down.

Okorocha in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sam Onwuemeodo, said that the Uzodinma had also petitioned him before Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The statement read partly “Gov. Uzodinma has continued to make this claim, without dropping anything on the table to back it up . He has made the claim a recurring blackmail issue.

“The truth is that, Okorocha never asked Uzodinma to disband any Commission. And there was no need for Okorocha to make such demand.

“Uzodinma does not want the truth to be heard or told about the much orchestrated Commissions. He has only been using issues about the Commissions as blackmail materials.

“He was the one who also wrote several petitions to EFCC and on the same issues he told the Commissions to handle.

“Gov. Uzodinma has been envious of Okorocha in all ramifications.”
