2 Yrs In Office: Ozigbo Not Impressed With Gov Soludo’s Performance, Sets To Contest Anambra 2025 Guber Election

From Ifeoma Ejiofor

Ahead the 2025 Anambra State governorship election, Mr Valentine Ozigbo of the Labour Party(LP) has declared his intention to join the race.

Ozigbo who spoke to journalists in Awka Saturday evening said he was not impressed with the performance of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo in the past two years

He said he had observed Soludo in the first two years without making comments but had decided to provide opposition by speaking to some of his policies and programmes with the aim of showing the people of the state that they deserved more.

Ozigbo said he was still committed to serving Anambra assuring that the people would be more proud of the state at the helm of affairs.

The 2021 Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) gubernatorial candidate said he will be contesting on the platform of the Labour Party(LP) come 2025.

He noted that Anambra is a great state which required courteousness, humility, and involvement of the people in the governance process for responsible and quality administration.

“You must be humble and relate with people in order to understand the people and make them to be part of what you are doing for them. I am not impressed with Soludo’s two years in office, I can do better in emotional intelligence because, for you to do well, you must know us

“After the 2021 election, I resolved to be quiet in the first two years but going forward, I want to start holding Soludo responsible for his actions,” he said.

Ozigbo said emphatically that as an advocate of zoning arrangement in Anambra, he would only serve for a single term of four years if elected.

“Four years is enough for me to make the most impact and move on, so, I respect zoning but it must be mixed with merit to make sense

“I will serve a single tenure of four years and as a man of integrity, I will honour the zoning arrangement,” he said.

The former President and Chief Executive Officer of Transnational Corporation of Nigeria Plc (Transcorp) blamed his loss in the last election on betrayal from party members and members of his campaign team who were transactional in the election.

He however said that he has learnt his lessons and would be more careful and battle ready as the election approaches.
