The newly constructed multi purpose hall in Ihiala LGA Secretariat witnessed an unprecedented crowd on Saturday as the member representing Ihiala federal constituency, Rt Hon Pascal Agbodike met his constituents.
It was indeed a triumphant entry for the House of Representatives member as crowd of supporters awaited his arrival at the gate of the Secretariat and heralded him to the venue.
Rt Hon Agbodike used the occasion of the interactive session to brief his constituents irrespective of political affiliation, from all the ten communities on progress reports of his activities and programs in the last three years.
The traditional rulers and President Generals from the communities witnessed the occasion which was kicked started on a prayer note by Very Rev Fr Hygi Aghaulor, the Episcopal Vicar for Ozubulu Region
Rt Hon Agbodike said that he has concentrated on the well being of his constituents in the past three years noting that he has positively impacted his people in the area of Education, Infrastructural development, Human capacity development and employment at the Local, State and federal level.
The House of Reps member who also declared his intention to go for reelection at the occasion said that he has supported communities and villages raveged by insecurity while it lasted.
Rt Hon Agbodike who appealed to his constituents to support his reelection aspiration pointed out that there is no part of his constituency that he has not positively touched.
He applauded Gov Charles Soludo for naming the Uli Campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University after Dr Chinwoke Mbadinuju, the former governor of Anambra State.
Oluoha Ihiala, HRH Igwe Thomas Obidiegwu, HRH Igwe Francis Chikezie of Azia, HRH Igwe Emma Nnabuife and other royal fathers in the Constituency were on hand to give royal Blessing to the occasion.
Earlier in his opening remarks, the Ihiala LGA Chairman, Hon Anayo Orjiakor welcomed the Mammoth crowd to the council Secretariat.
The highlights of the occasion was the endorsement of Rt Hon Pascal Agbodike by the entire people of Ihiala LGA, backed by an international businessman, High Chief Chimezie Nwankwo (Owelle Okija) who supported his campaign efforts with a whooping twenty million Naira.
The endorsement by Owelle Okija and the huge financial support threw venue of the meeting into ecstatic mood as other stakeholders also staked their money on the incumbent.
A stakeholder, Chief Joel Okey from Azia community while speaking with journalists at the end of proceedings said that the overwhelming endorsement and presence of a capacity crowd who turned up for the occasion is a clear testament of the fact that Rt Hon Agbodike has done so well in the last three years.
“The reward for hard work will always be more work, he has obviously done well in the past three years by given ndi-Ihiala a responsible and responsive representation in the green chamber of the National Assembly, he has also carried out many mouth watering constituency projects across Ihiala, the people have indeed spoken today by endorsing his reelection,” he asserted.
