Unknown gunmen, today being Wednesday, 31st March, 2021 invaded the Isuofia town Hall, Anambra state, where Professor Chukwuma Soludo, was holding a meeting with Isuofia youths. Soludo, a gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) was busy with the day’s activities when the gun men struck.
A source at the scene who is a member of All Soludo Support Group told Vision Newspapers Online, that Prof. Soludo is safe at the moment, even though he is distraught with the barbaric attack that led to loss of lives.
The source also said that two mobile policemen were killed on the spot by the gun men, while, a man close to the Soludo campaign was whisked away by the gunmen.
The Anambra Police Command said that they are tracking the event, and will be addressing the issue soon.
No group has claimed responsibility for today’s horrific action.
As for the motive for the attack, no one could point to any inordinate reason that could be attributed to it.
There was palpable fear by the attendees as people scattered from the venue, and few people loitering around were too scared to talk.
As at the time of this story, the bodies of the policemen were still out there.
