The Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has called on the National Assembly to put in place measures for the commencement of the process of restructuring the nation and devolution of powers
Ikpeazu stated the need to amend the constitution to devolve powers to the states with respect to security arrangements.
lkpeazu made the call while presenting Abia State’s position during the South East Zonal Public Hearing of the House of Representatives Special Committee on the Review of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria held in Owerri, Imo State.

Ikpeazu further made a case for constitutional roles for traditional rulers who according to him are closer to the people to enable them perform better for the enhancement of good governance, rapid socio-economic development and provision of peace and security at the rural communities.
