Anambra State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Yetunde Baberinwa, on Saturday, said the Scheme was prepared to participates and deliver a credible electoral process in the forthcoming November 6, 2021 governorship election in the state.
Mrs Baberinwa, stated this while flagging off this year’s NYSC Carnival Ceremony at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Unity Orientation Camp, Umuawulu/Mbaukwu in Awka South local Government Area of the state.
According to her, a total of 2,206 corps members had been registered and trained by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the state.
She assured Ndi-Anambra that the corps members under her watch, would carry out a transparent process without fear or favour.
She stated further that the scheme was committed to the entrenchment of a credible electoral system in the country.
“Corps members trained to involve in the governorship election have been warned that any violation of the scheme’s code of conduct would be met with consequences as provided in the electoral law and the NYSC bye-laws,” she added.
The state coordinator, equally warned political parties and their candidates to play by the rules and avoid any attempt to distract the Corps members from discharging their assignment during the exercise.
On the carnival ceremony, Baberinwa, noted that the idea was to bring Corps Members together culturally to promote national unity.
She said the carnival comprised all the cultural activities in all the ethnic groups in the country.
