The Anambra State Physical Planning Board Enforcement (ANSPPB) has pulled down a building being erected under electric power lines in the commercial and industrial city of Nnewi.
Our investigation showed that the land was sold to a non-indigene of the village, whom upon payment commenced erecting the building.
It would appear that the owner of the pulled-down structure did not have approval from the government’s agency responsible for the issuance of permit.
The Chairman of ANSPPB, who led the operation, said that the structure would have posed a very grave danger to the would-be occupants if it was not found by the agency.
Our reporters made an effort to locate the owner of the demolished house, but it was an exercise in futility.
