….. whatever Igwe says is law

Nnewi Solution Team led by a well-respected Nnewi – born Entrepreneur, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma, the CEO Gabros International, held their second meeting at the residence of their convener at Uru, Umudim, Nnewi, in continuation of their efforts to restore peace and equity in the community.
During the meeting on Sunday, May 3, 2026 that witnessed the presence of over 600 Nnewi people from the four quarters of Otolo, Umudim, Uruagu and Nnewichi, the convener, Chief Gabriel Chukwuma in his opening remarks expressed his gratitude to the stakeholders who attended the meeting.He highlighted on the previous meeting’s communique, which was to ensure that the 1997 Rotational Agreement in Nnewi is respected, Igwe’s stand is maintained, etc.




While highlighting on the impunity being perpetrated by the crop of leaders of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi and Council, he insisted that the non indigenes are to be accommodated without any form of injustice, victimisation and intimidation in our town, Such actions to allocate more burden on their part must be put to an end. Fairness should be extended to both indigenes and non indigenes equally.
He observed that since the effort to deny Nnewichi their right to present the next Council Chairman, that normalcy has eluded the town. He insisted that a candidate from Nnewichi must succeed the current Mayor, Hon.Echezona Anazodo, who is bent on continuing for a second tenure. Chief Chukwuma urged everyone to stand on justice and dispel the fear of being arrested.
Reacting to the points listed by the convener, Chief Eugene Nwizugbe (Anyanwu Igbo) charged the people present not to be afraid of anybody while fighting for peace, justice, equity and fairness in this town.
He emphasized that Nnewi is not complete without non indigenes, urging them to stand firm in their quest to get it right.
Prof. Obi Nwosu while speaking said non indigenes in Nnewi should be allowed to do their lawful businesses freely, noting that Nnewi people are also living in other parts of the country and are not isolated to be treated unfairly.
Hon Augustine Ike, Member Representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly said whatever His Royal Highness Igwe Nnewi says is law, and must be respected.
He further added that they stand on what Igwe Nnewi said and urged the meeting to remain lawful.
Others who spoke during the meeting were: Chief Emmanuel Nsoedo, Hon. George Nwachukwu, Prince Nonso Obi, among others.
