Anambra State House of Assembly Committee on Public Account has
admonished ministries that appear before it for verification of their
audited financial transactions for the year 2019 without detailed
financial breakdown of expenditures to retrace their steps.
House of Assembly Correspondent, Chukwuemeka Modilim reports that the
Committee gave the warning during the verification of the audited
account of Anambra State Leisure Park and Street Beautification Agency
for the year 2019 in Awka.
The committee, which spoke through its chairman, Sir Somtoochukwu
Udeze observed some discrepancies in the 2019 expenditure of the
agency and directed it, to make amends where necessarily to encourage
transparency probity and good public account system.
On her part, the Managing Director, Anambra State leisure Parks and
Street Beautification Agency, Lady Ify Atogu heighted the achievements
of the agency in the year under review to include Beautification of
parts of Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi, Nawfia among others.
Lady Atogu assured to comply with the directive of the committee to
reposition the agency.
The Ministries of Economic Planning, Budget and Finance also appeared
before the Committee and gave account of their capital expenditures
for the year under review.
