The Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency (ANSAA) has reminded all political parties and candidates participating in 2027 general elections in Anambra State of the need to mandatory requirements to pay and obtain campaign permits from the agency before conducting campaign activities such as out-of door promotions, rallies. Branded materials, public address systems, and other outdoor promotion activities.
This was contained in a press briefing held recently at Awka, Anambra State, where the Assistant General Manager of ANASAA, Engr. Chuka Ngobili noted that the essence was to ensure orderliness, prevent visual pollution, protect public infrastructures and maintain professional standards, guarantee fairness, make equal access to advertising space and ensure proper coordination of campaign related outdoor activities across the state.
While presenting the approved permit fees for various political categories of elections, he said that 50million was for presidential candidates, N20million for House of Assembly candidates, N2.5 million for chairmanship candidates and N100,000 for councillorship candidates.
With these, Engr. Ngobili added that these permits grant candidates and political parties the right to deploy approved campaign materials and activities within approved locations across the relevant electoral areas in Anambra.
“ANSAA enforcement teams shall monitor compliance throughout the campaign period and any individual, group or organization found violating these guidelines shall be sanctioned in accordance with laws of Anambra State.
“Let it be known to you that no individual, political party, candidate or support group is expected to erect billboards or advertisement structures in any party of Anambra except through dully registered and licensed advertising practitioners recognized by ACRON and authorized by ANSAA.
“All political parties and candidates are thereby strongly advised to work only with ACRON registered practitioners and obtain the necessary approvals from ANSAA to avoid sanction, removal of unauthorized materials or other regulatory actions” He added.
Engr. Ngobili further appealed with the political parties, candidates, their supporters and members of the public to be considerate of other users of advertising and do away from destroying, removing campaign materials of their opponents, describing such act as unacceptable and unlawful.
