Anambra state government as part of measures to curtail the spread of covid-19 pandemic has barricaded the Bridgehead end boundary of the Enugu-Asaba expressway.
Also barricaded was the left and right pedestrian pathway, the construction of gate and crossbar was to avert intercity movement in the state.
Correspondent, Odinaka Nwolisa who monitored the new development reports that security personnel and members of the Federal Road Safety Corps were on ground, enforcing compliance to the use of face mask, while people were seen in their large numbers trooping in and out of the commercial city.
Heavy duty vehicles were seen lined up along the road with heavy traffic gridlock as security men conduct stop and search exercise.
Speaking in a telephone interview, the Commissioner for Transport Dr.
Christian Madubuko said the construction of the gate at the boundary was part of state government proactive measures to restrict entrance into the state.
Dr Madubuko who confirmed his visit to the area yesterday morning said other positive measures will be sustained at ending the ravaging virus in the state.
