Ebonyi Town Union Association under the leadership of Amb. Moses Igwe has condemned the killing of Mmesoma by her boyfriend.
The Association in a statement issued by the President General, Amb Moses Igwe, the Ebonyi Town Union Association, Anambra State, deeply regrets and strongly condemns the tragic killing of a young woman in Uga Community, reportedly by a man from Ebonyi State following her refusal to marry him.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the entire Uga Community. No disappointment or rejection justifies taking another person’s life. We call on the relevant authorities to investigate the incident thoroughly and ensure that justice is served.
“We acknowledge the anger and protests across Uga Community and sincerely appeal for calm. We urge the people of Uga to distinguish the alleged actions of one individual from the wider Ebonyi population living peacefully in Anambra State. An entire community should not be made to suffer for the alleged crime of one individual.
“We reaffirm our commitment to peaceful coexistence, respect for our host communities, and the rule of law. Let us choose dialogue over hostility and justice over revenge.” Amb. Igwe asserted.
