Emeka Offor Foundation donates 3000 bags of rice to flood victims in Kebbi


THE Sir Emeka Offor Foundation has donated 3,000 50kgs bags of rice to flood victims in Kebbi State.

The commodity, worth over N81million was handed over to Governor Atiku Bagudu in Birnin Kebbi.

Emeka Offor, represented by his Chief of Staff, retired AIG Chris Okey Ezike, said the gesture was the modest contribution by the foundation to alleviate the suffering of the intended beneficiaries.

According to him, the gesture is also aimed at helping Kebbi State mitigate the formidable challenges posed by the recent flood disasters across the State.

He said Governor Atiku Bagudu and the founder of the foundation share over 25 years tremendous friendship and fellowship and have engaged in mutually beneficial activities of bringing succour to humanity.

Responding, Governor Atiku Bagudu described the gesture by Sir Offor as a wonderful one, which he said will go a long way in complementing the ongoing efforts to massively assist the flood victims.

The governor also expressed his delight that the donated rice is locally processed in Anambra State, stressing that it is an indication that the agricultural policy of President Muhammdu Buhari has come to fruition.

He also thanked the foundation for donating medical equipment and supplies to the state at the peak of coronavirus pandemic.
