Fomer PGs In Anambra Call For Sustained Peaceful Coexistence In The State


Association of Past Presidents-General of Town Unions in Anambra State has called for all hands to be on deck towards sustaining the relative peace in the State under the leadership of Governor Willie Obiano.


The association made the call during its second quarterly meeting in Awka.
Correspondent Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that the President of the association, Chief Omeife Omeife while commending Governor Willie Obiano for all his good work in the State, reminded the Association of Past Presidents-General of Town Unions in Anambra State that the major objective of the association is to make their various communities and the state in general better, and as well address welfare challenges of members.
Chief Omeife called on past Presidents-General of various communities in the State that have not identified with the association to do so for their own interest and as well as that of their communities and the state in general.


Contributing, a one-time President-General of Oraukwu Town Union, Prince Emeka Udodeme rated Governor Obiano high in good governance, advising Ndi Anambra to vote wisely in 2021 gubernatorial election for continuity.
In a remark, the Former President-General Nkwelle-Ezunaka, Dr Chris Eluemuno, called on Nigeria government to give Ndi Igbo chance for presidency in the next general election in the country, as according to him that is the only way to give people of Igbo extraction a sense of belonging in the Nigerian Nation.


The group while collectively applauding the peaceful disposition and developmental strides of the Obiano administration, called on the Governor to look into the lingering election of the Anambra Association of Town Unions, to ensure peaceful coexistence among members of the association.
Among top members of the group present at the event include Former President-General of Adazi-Ani, Chief Edwin Okafor, his Onitsha counterpart, Chief Peter Nwagu, that of Akwukwu, Chief Mike Anierobi, among others.
