The acting CMD of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Dr. Joseph Ugboaja (Ochinanwata), is fast becoming a legend within his more prominent constituent.
Friday, being 13th of August, 2021, was the birthday of Ugboaja. While he was away on an official assignment, some of his friends from all works of life decided to celebrate a kind gentleman who has long integrated himself with the town’s people and its surroundings.
The surprise party which plan was spear-headed by a senior lawyer amongst Dr Ugboaja’s friends almost clashed with the arrangement being made by Sir Bobby Okwuosa, CEO of B Robinson of coffee house. Both organizers later harmonized the soiree held at the upper deck of B Robinson Coffee House.
What was remarkable about this young man’s magnetism was that the party was well-attended by the friends who came on a very short notice to celebrate him, albeit in his absence.
The Vision Newspapers was able to reach him on the phone on Saturday to enquire about how felt about the gettogether in absence. Dr Ugboaja expressed a huge surprise about the whole thing since he was not away about any plans before hand.
According to Ugboaja, he only got to know about the party because the organizers tried to lure him to the event to surprise him, but they were surprised when they found out he was not around.
It was only then that they explained the situation to him. “I was thoroughly surprised about the level of love these friends have for me. I still cannot get over it”.
“I want to tell you that this kind gesture will not go unchallenged”. I will continue the celebration when I come back by going to see some members of the society that are challenged one way or the other and show themselves some love as well.
Dr Ugboaja also urge members of the community to reach out to the vulnerable in the society, since the government cannot reach everybody at the same time.
Dr Ugboaja urged the members of the society to intensify the Covid 19 protocol which helped the people to avoid the catastrophic effect which many countries suffered, and are still suffering with the advent of the Delta variant of the covid 19.
