House of Reps aspirant raises alarm over killings in Ihiala

By Ifeoma Ejiofor

House of Representatives aspirant, Barr Akachukwu Johnmary Maduakolam has expressed disgust over a report of the number of killings across Nigeria in the first 3 weeks of January 2022 noting that his constituency, Ihiala Local Goverment Area was not reflected in the report.

The UK trained legal luminary said that he was particularly sad to note that the government has failed in its primary duty of protection of lives and property.

“I am even more perplexed that the number of persons killed in a senseless battle in Ihiala Local Government of Anambra State alone are not captured. Does it mean nobody knows our people are dying in numbers? Does it mean we have nobody to tell our story? I am sure more than 30 persons have died from gunmen and the military in these few weeks and it is irresponsibility not to talk about it.” He asserted.

Barr Maduakolam reassured Ihiala people that with him as their voice in the lower chamber of the National Assembly, things will no longer be same as he would usher in a responsible, responsive and quality representation everyone would be proud of.

He said as a matter of fact that time has indeed come to clean up Ihiala federal constituency.

“I want us to have a CLEAN Ihiala LGA for the greater good; and once we are elected, we will hinge our legislative engagements on the following core values: Creative Economy, Leadership, Education, Agriculture, Naissance(CLEAN).” He pointed out.
