LGA Election: Anambra market leader declares for Chairmanship

The Chairman, Agboedo Motor Parts, Nnewi in Nnewi North LGA, Bro Dennis Uchenna Ikegwuonu(Onyesi) has declared his intention to contest for the chairmanship position in the September 28, local government election.

The declaration ceremony which attracted timber and caliber from within the industrial town and beyond took place in the Uru-Umudim Nnewi residence.

Bro Ikegwuonu while presenting his ‘Seven Reshape Agenda’ at the occasion expressed his determination to give the industrial town of Nnewi a five star governance.

He said road and traffic management, education and research development, security of lives and properties, health care delivery, agriculture and food security would occupy the front burner of his administration.

“Power, energy/technology, economic development, maintenance of rule of law and order, environment and waste to wealth, sports development as well as housing development would not be neglected under my watch as Executive Chairman of Nnewi North LGA,”he said.

Bro Ikegwuonu said further that arts, culture and entertainment, physical development of Nnewi and empowerment of the youths would be given priority attention.

The market leader who has been the resource manager for Kotec Industries, Nnewi for over a decade, pointed out that his outstanding performance as Agboedo Motor section of Nnewi main market has earned him the position of Anambra South market Chairman.

Bro Ikegwuonu said that his declaration is born out demands by stakeholders in the market, churches and non indigenes who have been appealing to him to join the race.

He said that he joined the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in 2013 and has been financing the party in his ward since then.

The market leader appealed to Nnewi North LGA APGA family to avail him the party ticket for the LGA polls.

Mr Ejike Ndubuizu also speaking at the occasion extolled the leadership qualities of Bro Ikegwuonu especially his transformative leadership in Agboedo section of Nnewi main market.

The Nnewi North LGA APGA chairman Hon Tony Muodielo(Classic), wakrd chairmen, councillors and other stakeholders from Nnewi main market attended the declaration ceremony.
