HRM Igwe Godwin Nwabunwanne Odiegwu the traditional ruler of Abacha ancient kingdom, Idemili North LGA few days ago solemnly marked his forty years of his marital life.
Speaking to newsmen on this, Igwe Odiegwu who was full of thanks and gratefulness to God for this noted that he want to use the opportunity to advice and admonish young couples and intending youths who want to get involve in marriages on the importance for them to imbibe the culture of patience, sincerity, absolute trust of each other, love and more importantly clinging to God for strength to enable them to withstand any challenges that will come out of their marriages.
Saying that marriages institution is divine and enjoyable if couples will tolerate and trust each other, the royal father noted that there is absolute joy in marriages if couples can tolerate each other shortcomings and always be patient as well as make God their focal point instead of looking up to Man.
Commenting on outside influence on marriages which he said is the Chief Cause of breakups and failed marriages in the society these days, he appealed to young couples and youths who want to enter into marriages to avoid anything even from their parents, friends or any outsider interference in their marital affairs.
Said he, “am appealing to all youths and other intending couples in Nigeria not to allow any outsider to come in their marriages and settle quarrels for them, they should not copy anybody in marriages as success of marriages has no formula,My advice for them is for two of them to settle their quarrels within themselves by praying to God together, respecting each other opinions, acting as a team, tolerate and always invite God for guidance”.
On success of his own marriage, he attributed the success recorded so far as grace of God stressing that God has been grateful to him, his wife and his entire family as all his sons and daughters has gotten married and is doing well in all their chosen endevours.
