NAUTH’s College Of Nursing Matriculates 106

The College of Nursing Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, (NAUTH) Nnewi, Anambra State on Wednesday held her 24th matriculation and capping ceremony for the 2023 set.

The event took place at Chief Gilbert Metu Uzodike Auditorium NAUTH Nnewi.

The theme of the ceremony was “Promoting Nursing Care In The Politically and Economically Challenge Environment.”

Obi George Onyekaba Obidiugwu, Obi of Nnewichi-Nnewi, who represented the Paramount Royal Father of Nnewi, Igwe Dr. KON Orizu 1I1, praised the Chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof Joseph Ugboaja(OON) for his style of leadership.

Chief Onyekaba noted that the present administration has ensured that the welfare of the staffers occupies the front burner, which, according to him, has encouraged the workers to do their best.

He said, “As a matter of fact, Prof Ugboaja is fully in charge, and the workers are happier for it.”

The Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of NAUTH, Prof. O Ezejiofor who represented the CMD at the occasion urged the marticulants to take their studies seriously noting that it would be counter productive for them to lose steem after all the huddles they passed through before getting admission.

He pointed out that over four thousand students applied for the slot meant for just one hundred nursing and one hundred midwifery students.

Prof Ugboaja, however, expressed the preparedness of NAUTH to give the matriculants the best opportunities to pursue their careers.

The CMD maintained that NAUTH will not compromise the culture of hard work and character

In her address, the Provost of the College of Nursing, NAUTH, represented by Dame Joy C. Aralu, said that the College of Nursing NAUTH has been excelling academically and rated as one of the best college of Nursing in Nigeria.

She said the college has a reputation for turning out high-profile Nursing personnel into the labour market.

“The College has recorded tremendous achievements over the years through the support of the Chief Medical Director and management of NAUTH. It is a thing of Joy that the school has maintained the lead in the results of the final professional qualifying examination of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria in the whole federation,”

She expressed her gratitude to the amiable, hardworking, and people-oriented leader, Chief Medical Director, Prof J I Ugboaja, for providing the platform for the college to excel.

The Provost said there is no doubt that the CMD has become famous for achievements of positive change in NAUTH.

Dr. Ngozi Makata presented a lecture on promoting Nursing Care In The Politically and Economically Challenged Environment.

The event’s highlight was the capping of the one hundred and six matriculated students.

Staff, Management, and the Board of NAUTH, as well as parents and guardians of capped Nursing and Midwifery, witnessed the occasion.
