Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NLNG


NLNG has recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital (NAUTH) as part of the second phase of its multi-billion-naira Hospital Support Programme (NLNG HSP).

The purpose of such a relationship was to raise the quality and standard of healthcare delivery in various institutions across Nigeria as a matter of principle on the part of (NLNG HSP).

NAUTH under the leadership of Professor Joseph has taken infrastructural and service delivery to a greater height. This MOU would help ensure the attainment of the vision under Professor Ugboaja to make NAUTH the premier leader in healthcare service delivery in the West Africa zone.

Dr. Philip Mshelbila, Managing Director of NLNG signed the MOU for the NLNG Hospital Support Programme, with Professor Joseph Ugboaja, Chief Medical Director (CMD), NAUTH, on April 17, 2024, to construct a STANDARD OXYGEN PLANT and ancillary facilities at the NAUTH Permanent Site.

The initiative came about following the COVID-19 pandemic which exposed the need of certain critical facilities at hospitals across the nation.

Hence, Dr. Mshelbila, during the signing ceremony said that the NLNG HSP seeks to establish partnerships that promote infrastructural development and immediate utilization of facilities for improved healthcare services to the Nigerian populace.
Other dignitaries at the event include NLNG’s Deputy Managing Director, Olakunle Osobu; NLNG’s General Manager; Finance, Fatima Adanan. Others were the CMD, Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, Dr. Osiatuma Azubuike; the CMD, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Prof. Yusuf Jibrin; the Chief of Staff/Technical Adviser to NAUTH CMD, MLS Jackson Grant Njoku (Head, NLNG-NAUTH Project Monitoring and Evaluation Unit).

Tapping into the program of NLNG by Professor Ugboaja certainly marks a major milestone in sustaining the drive for Excellency at NAUTH.
