Nnewi High sacks the Geoffrey Chukwunwike Onuchukwu-led Executive of Ezinifite Town Union (ETU)

The plaintiffs, Mssrs Cyprian Okafor and Philip Nwosu brought a suit against the immediate past Caretaker Committee of Ezinifite Town Union (ETU), who exceeded their mandate when they conducted an election that ushered in Geoffrey Chukwunwike Onuchukwu as the substantive President of ETU, along with his executives.

The court noted that the term for Barrister Egwuoyibo Okoye’s Caretaker Committee committee ended on 2nd of December, 2019.

The court, therefore, found that the election conducted by the Egwuoyibo-led Caretaker Committee was null and void.

The court ordered the members of ETU Trustees to take over the administration of the town in the interim.

The court also mandates the Trustees to conduct a fresh election of the town’s elected officers, not later than 31st December 2022.

My Questions:

The individuals who dragged this matter to court did they consult the no.1 citizen of Ezinifite who happens to be the Igwe Ezeoha II?

Did they question the eligibility of the caretaker committee that supervised election earlier before the election was held?

Why say No after you have said Yes?

There’s no smoke without fire.
