Senator Olaka Nwogu, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Rivers Southeast senatorial bye-election, called the voter turnout impressive.
He made this statement after voting at Alesa in the Eleme Local Government Area on Saturday.
Nwogu said the strong turnout clearly shows the people’s support and acceptance of the election process.
He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to depend too heavily on technology during the election.
He expressed concern over reports of BVAS malfunctions in some areas and asked INEC to address these issues to prevent disenfranchisement.
