The Nnewichi-Nnewi community yesterday celebrated her annual cultural festival and inauguration of Obi Nnewichi community cabinet.
The occasion was attended by top flight politicians, captains of industries and traditional rulers and other eminent personalities from far and near.
Obi Nnewichi-Nnewi, Obi George Onyekaba while speaking at the occasion said that Afiolu is a very important festival in Nnewi.
He said that the occasion signifies the appreciation of the Almighty God for a successful planting season that ended in a bountiful harvest.
Obi Onyekaba said that eminent persons who have distinguished themselves in their various field of endeavors are carefully selected into his cabinet.
Obi Nnewichi-Nnewi also gave certificates to the lucky persons who were chosen as cabinet members.
Prayers were made for the continued blessing of God upon all Nnewichi-Nnewi people.
In a brief chat with journalists, Chief Apostle Chukwunonye Onyejuluwa,
(Mmadukaejiaka Nnewi), Obi Obiofia Nnewichi-Nnewi congratulated Obi Onyekaba for a successful outing.
The highlight of the occasion was presentation of certificates to the Obi Nnewichi-Nnewi cabinet members and presentation of gifts while dancing groups and masquerades also entertained the guests.
