Obiano inspects Ihite-Ndioji road project


GOVERNOR Willie Obiano has inspected ongoing asphalting works on the  2.5 kilometers Ihite-Ndioji road.

   The road, which  was awarded in February, 2019, connects Anambra State with Abia State and on completion, will take only 15 minutes drive from Anambra into Abia State.

 The governor  while inspecting the road recounted the importance of the access to some communities in the state.

  He noted that the contractor gave him assurances that asphalting of the road will be completed in two weeks and commended them for complying with standard, adding that the road has high economic value to the community which is agrarian.

 The governor expressed satisfaction at the standard of ongoing work at the project site, while noting that the road would provide access to the people and as well promote evacuation of farm produce when completed.

  “We are ready to complete the road because; I know the hardships our people in this area pass through yearly. I will be glad to be associated with the success story of completing road.”

  The Commissioner for Works,  Marcel Ifejiofor noted that the earthwork and sand filling were done within specifications.

  In the governors entourage to the site include the Commissioner for Housing,  Mike Okonkwo, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Primus Odili, among others.
