Obiano presents 2022 budget of N141.9 billion


Out of the draft estimate based on realistic projections on all sources of revenue, recurrent expenditure was pegged at N60.9 billion, representing forty-three per cent, while the Capital expenditure was pegged at N81 billion at sixty-seven per cent.

While road, works and infrastructure will gulp N23 billion, agriculture will take N3 billion and education N3.3 billion.

Environment is expected to take N3.4 billion, youth empowerment: N 2.08 billion creative economy, N5.8 billion; Heal at N 5.8 billion; SME, N1 billion and water resources and public utilities at N 2.1 billion.

Community social development program will get N1.4 billion to enable the commencement of the third phase of the community-choose-your-project initiative as well as provisions for disability programs.

Governor Obiano said that the estimate was geared towards sustaining his performance over the last seven years, with no plans to increase taxes and levies in the coming year.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Honourable Uche Okafor, presided over the proceedings.

Chike Obiekwe, the Chairman of, Anambra Physical Planning Board, while commending the governor, appealed to the incoming administration to emulate Obiano, on his kind gesture towards the welfare of Ndi-Anambra.
