Public Safety Campaign: Security agencies in Anambra unite in walk against violent crime

From Ifeoma Ejiofor

The Anambra State Police Command on Saturday joined the Department of State Services (DSS) and other sister security agencies in a sensitisation walk against violent crime across the State.

The exercise brought together personnel from the various security agencies, who marched in solidarity to raise public awareness on the dangers of violent crime and the need for collective responsibility in maintaining peace and security in Anambra State.

The walk is aimed at reinforcing the security agencies’ commitment to inter-agency collaboration, intelligence sharing, community engagement, and proactive crime prevention, while encouraging members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to the appropriate security authorities.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Police through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Tochukwu Ikenga (SP) has reiterated that the security of the State is a collective responsibility.

The Command called on residents, community leaders, traditional rulers, religious organisations, youth and women groups, transport unions and other stakeholders to continue supporting the security agencies with credible information that could assist in preventing crime and apprehending criminal elements.

Members of the public are also charged to reject violence, avoid acts capable of disrupting public peace, and cooperate with security agencies in the collective effort to make Anambra safer.
