Hon Ikenna A Okafor, the Labour Party candidate for the Nnewi Federal Constituency went before His Royal Highness Igwe Dr KON Orizu III to formally inform him that after months of contests with his adversaries, that he had emerged as the sole candidate for the party.
Hon Ikenna, who was in the company of his father, came with prominent personalities from Umuenem and beyond; had also, a strong contingent of the party stalwarts in attendance, during the visit to Igwe Nnewi palace.
His Royal Highness Igwe Nnewi blessed and prayed for his safety during the campaign and elections. Igwe Nnewi gave Ikenna Okafor a strong endorsement because he is a good member of his domain whose father also is well known for being principled and active in the community.
Mr Christomex Okafor thanked HRH Igwe Orizu III for his magnanimity for receiving them with open arms, especially the love he expressed for his son, Ikenna, whom he is convinced will give Nnewi Federal Constituency the best representation possible at Abuja.
Upon hearing that he was at the palace, a team of supporters showed and started singing his praises and escorted the surprised candidate as he left for his next port of call.
