It was a roll call of creme de la creme in Onitsha, Anambra state, as comrade Ojukwu Emeka family of Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area, had tripple celebrations of 20 years of marriage, 45 birthday and child dedication at the Knight of St Christopher’s hall, All Saints Cathedral church, Onitsha.
The occasion, which was preceded by a Special church service at St Joseph Catholic church, Abata Nsugbe, Onitsha suburb, Presided over by Very Rev. Fr. Chika Okagbue, attracted men of timbre and Calibre.
In his homily, the Catholic cleric who is the Parish Priest, enjoined the couple and all Christians to live Christ like life if they want to make heaven adding that they should also be their brother’s keeper .
He expressed satisfaction with the tripple celebrations of the couple and charged them to continue to live a life devoid of rancour and extend same to their children.
Thanking God for the tripple celebrations, comrade Ojukwu (a k.a. Onwuamaeze n’ Okija) said, “I want to thank my wife for enduring all the nonsense I have been doing and also my children. Life is like a football March of 90 minutes of play and I have played the first 45 minutes.
“I pray God to give me the strenght to finish the 90 minutes game. Today is better than yesterday, I believe the second half of another 45 minutes will be better but if I don’t live for the next 45 minutes, I have gotten my children and they will substitute me if I don’t live.
“I thank all those who have come to stay and enjoy with me, that include my club, Nwaezefunamba Social club of which I am the national President, Voltage Ladies club, Chief Sunday Peter Obinze (Ogwuego) who was former-President General of Onitsha Bridgehead market, Hon. Ezenduka Chike Samuel, among others too numerous to mention.
In her contribution, Ojukwu’s wife disclosed that, “We understand each other,, it is not fighting or quarreling that will restore peace and harmony, prayer is the ultimate.
“Unfortunately women of these days don’t endure patience. Because of violence some do not last in marriage. We pray for long life, good health and prosperity,” she hinted.
Speaking, Chief Sunday Obinze said, “It is a tripple celebration that Worth’s to be celebrated because living with a woman for 45 years without qualrreling shows that they live in peace, harmony and have good understanding between themselves.”
Also Hon. Ezenduka Chike Samuel stated that, “Ojukwu is a very good man, I keep celebrating him. He has been with us and he is still with us, I wish him and wife well”.
The Financial secretary of Nwaezefunamba Social club, Nnamdi Obumse,(Mmilienweilo) expressed satisfaction with the couple adding, “I wish them long life and prosperity. Ojukwu has played for 45 minutes and he will complete the 90 minutes game and if he fails to get to 90, his children will continue from where he stopped.”
In his contribution, secretary of the club, Izuchukwu Anthony Amanze said, “I wish Ojukwu well, he is our President and will remain our President in the next world”.
