Anambra State government says it will continue to improve the
facilities at the General hospitals across the State through the
Anambra State Health Insurance Agency.
The Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke stated this during the inauguration
of an ultrasound machine and a solar energy system procured for
Enugwu-Ukwu General Hospital by the agency.
Dr Okeke while expressing delight that Anambra State Health Insurance
Agency is serving the purpose for which it was established, called for
more support for the agency to enable it do more in the Health sector.
He assured that the present administration will keep strengthening the
Health sector for improved healthcare services across the State.
The Executive Secretary Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr
Simeon Onyemaechi while explaining that the agency was instituted to
ensure healthy living and also solve the problem of healthcare
financing in the state, said the gesture will be replicated in other
general hospitals in the State.
Responding, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr William
Onwuocha thanked the State government and the Agency for coming to
their aid, saying that the equipment will improve their services and
asked for more assistance in other pressing needs of the hospital.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Vincent Okpala was also present
during the event.
