Chief Oseloka Osuigwe, upon going through the formality of being inducted as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, took his guests to celebration in style. The guests, mainly from Anambra state and Abuja, went through various cuisines of their choice.
The venue was the great Mercellanius Verandas opposite the World Bank headquarters beside the ECOWAS Secretariat in the Asokoro district.
The compound of the venue is a scene to behold, with an immaculately manicured lawn, trees, and flowers. There is an inviting swimming pool filled to the brim with ocean-like green water adorned with various colored reflecting bulbs around the edges.
The lawn tennis was features beautiful benches for the spectators and players. Beyond the adult swimming pool and the children’s pool is the clubhouse, constructed ostentatiously.
The seating arrangements were laid out on the open lawn and around the pool. The imposing picture of Chief Osuigwe in his SAN regalia was displayed in front of the clubhouse in style.
The turnout of people from all works of life was so impressive. Chief Osuigwe and the entire Osuigwe clan were in their numbers.
The event’s high point was The cutting of the cake by the Anambra Chief Justice with Justice Okwuma, the Chief Medical Director NAUTH, Prof Ugboaja, Justice Utazi, etc.
The caterers prepare a variety of continental and local dishes. There were different types of barbecue meat being prepared on the spot: chicken, ram, and whole cow suspended in the air while cooking slowly.
It will be out of place for one to try cataloging the different drinks served at the event. The turnout was so impressive that the strategy of using Mercellanius was almost defeated.
One thing is clear: choosing Senator Ikechukwu Obiorah’s house was a wise decision by Chief Oseloka Osuigwe; otherwise, it would have been impossible to accommodate the mammoth crowd that witnessed the celebration of his induction.
