Former APGA governorship aspirant dumps party, joins PDP

A former frontline governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Rommy Okoli (Akajiugo Ukpor and Ozioma Nnewi) has dumped the party and joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Chief Okoli popularly known as the Messenger in the political and social circles was officially received into PDP on Tuesday by Mr Valentine Ozigbo and the former governor of the state, Mr Peter Obi as well as other leadership of the party during a campaign rally in Ukpor in Nnewi South LGA.

“I have finally endorsed Mr Val Ozigbo , the PDP governorship candidate and his running mate, Lady Azuka Enemuo, to win the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State. I will use all the resources, contacts and enormous goodwill available to me to support their ticket. I took this difficult decision after due consultation with my Campaign Organisation.” Chief Okoli declared.

He assured that his supporters would massively vote for the PDP candidate Mr Valentine Ozigbo and his deputy, Lady Azuka Enemuo on Saturday noting that the duo are decent, humble, compassionate people capable of transforming Anambra State to a more prosperous secured state, Ndi-Anambra shall all be proud of.

“I offered myself to serve as the governor of Anambra State but Val Ozigbo will equally do better by providing purposeful leadership for our people.” The former governorship hopeful explained.

Chief Okoli while applauding his teeming supporters for the confidence reposed in him, assured them that he would continue to carry them along.

The former APGA governorship candidate also appreciated the incumbent governor, Sir Dr Willie Obiano for giving him the opportunity to serve in his administration.
