Police Commence Investigation Into Murder Of Landlord By Tenant In Ogidi, Idemili North Council Area


Police Command in Anambra State says its has commenced investigations into  murder of a landlord through inheritance a thirty-five yearold Nonso Umeadi Oyiboka of Ogidi Ani-Etiti in Idemili North Local
Government Area by his tenant a twenty-one year old Onyemaechi Mmaju
of the same address.

A release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State Mr Haruna Mohammed says that on receiving the report Police operatives attached to the Ogidi Division led by the Divisional Police
Officer Mr Ekuri Remigius visited the scene and rushed the victim who was found in a pool of his blood to Iyienu Mission hospital Ogidi for medical attention where he was certified dead by the Medical Doctor on
arrival.According to the release the corpse has been deposited at the hospital
Mortuary for autopsy.
The release stated however that a careful observation on the deceased body revealed stab wound on his back while a blood stained knife alleged used in perpetrating the act was also recovered as exhibit at
the scene.

The Police said in the release, that relevant investigations revealed that the deceased allegedly had a little quarrel over bringing in too many women into the compound that eventually led to a scuffle which
resulted to the deceased being stabbed to death.

The release disclosed that the Commissioner of Police in Anambra State Mr John Abang has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation after which the suspect will be charged to court for prosecution.
